DON'T activate Winamp or WMP. It will try to reorganise the MV8800 hard disk and corrupt it in the process.
Do you start the connection from the MV8800?
Like in CHapter 18 of the manual?

I've done the conecting USB just like this in the manual capito 18 and when I click over the icon of the MV8800 HD in my computer opens a window asking me what program I want to open the HD and MV can not open the HD MV to view its contents I am using Windows XP and tested in two differently on Notebooks and both appear the same message and I can not open the hard drive that has left me very anxious to resolve this problem

Interesting.
When I double-click the MV hard drive it opens with Explorer. Can you tell it to open with Explorer (Windows Explorer)?

Nik was good you can talk about Windows explorer because when I connect the VM to the computer do it without being connected to the Internet for fear of catching a virus or some other problem being off line and my computer gives me the opportunity to open the HD with WE
I heard on another topic that other users had the same problem and had to remove the HD MV and connect it to a thread adapter and HD so could view the contents of HD

NIK I understand what you said and thanks for your help I'm already going crazy with this problem and have transferred files by dragging the icon into the VM on my computer so that these files from patches and samples are disorganized and out of certain folders if someone already went through this kind of problem help me please

If you can open the MV hard drive in Windows Explorer, you can see all the files and folders and you can move them around as you like.
If the MV says that is connected successfully via USB but you cannot open the MV hard drive in Windows Explorer, then I think the computer is the problem - not the MV.
Do you have other USB memorry devices such as USB hard drive or USB flash/thumb drive? Do they work OK with your computer?

Nik the problem may be in the same pc I have beyond the MV 8800 a Fantom X8 and always use it via USB and it works well, also use compact flash cards, the fantom to transfer files and never had problems only with the MV'm having this problem
my computer does not give me the option to view the files so I continued with this problem

No - don't change the file system.
Your computer hard disk is NTFS - OK. But your computer can still see the FAT file system on the MV. That is not the problem.
