Hello,

I'm struggling to get my copy of Cubase VST 5 to work on my Vista laptop, so wondered if anyone could recommend a good low to mid price DAW that has score printing capabilities. I can't afford £500 for the current version of Cubase right now.

Cheers
Andy

Andy, GarageBand comes with every Mac and it can edit and print note scores (incl. in imported MIDI files). That is a hint for the future :-)
By the way, if you want, you can e-mail me the notes and I can print them for you.

Thanks both.

I think I'm going to look at a separate DAW and continue to use the DTP Score section of Cubase VST on my desktop for the time being.

I'm surprised that none of the major DAWs seem to offer this level of functionality that was previously available.

Hey ho.

Cheers
Andy

Sonar is very comparable to Cubase and is a very easy to use DAW and is now owned by Roland.

We can't forget about Protools 8. I've never used it (the score editor) but I think it has a score editor.

Thanks again. Yeah, I hate you all, Artemiy :o)

It's not Score editing I'm after, it's more than that. Cubase VST Score had additional functionality to make it almost a score DTP programme like Sibelius, but built into the DAW.

I'll check out Sonar and ProTools, I think.

Cheers
Andy
